What the Course Will Cover

This course will cover how to analyze your transition officiating in 3-person mechanics. Analyzing your game video is the #1 tool we have as officials to make rapid and consistent improvement in our game. Get started with this 3-part video course.

Our analysis approach for transition officiating is to evaluate from each position whether the official: leaves at the correct time, moves at the correct pace, observes the correct things en route, and ends up at the correct spot at the correct time.

Trail to New Lead

Trail to new Lead can be the most challenging. Focus is on getting to the endline to receive the play, while continuing to officiate. Ball and clock awareness are key.

Center to Center

While at times the easiest role, by no means is it a chance to take plays off. Official must recognize when pressure defense is occurring and adjust accordingly.

Lead to Trail

Big picture view while trailing the play. Recognizing pressure and being prepared. On-ball coverage is obviously key.
